We were warmly welcomed by Christine & Jean-Louis, whose passion for horses and hospitality have been palpable for many years.
The setting is magnificent, surrounded by greenery and offering a rare tranquility. For sports enthusiasts, there's plenty to do - running, cycling (tried and tested!) and even a large swimming pool in the gite, ideal for sipping a birch sap cocktail to help you recover :))
Rooms are comfortable, tastefully decorated and offer stunning views of the Pyrenees.
I recommend it to all nature and horse lovers. We'll be back without hesitation!

The kitchen is well equipped and the terrace is perfect for eating outside. The jacuzzi was an added bonus for our relaxation, and we made the most of it after our walks!

We had a very pleasant stay at the Haras Picard du Sant. Very spacious and comfortable room. Copious and fresh breakfast. (homemade jams, waffles, yoghurts...). Welcomed by Jean-Louis, we took part in feeding the herds of Mérens...these horses are extraordinary in their presence and quality.
The region is beautiful and offers a multitude of activities: horseback riding, walking, local markets...
We'll definitely be back after the "estives" and wish Jean-Louis, Christine, their friends and their horses a wonderful transhumance. A wonderful human encounter for us too.

We had a great weekend.
As well as reuniting with friends to celebrate Vincent's 50th birthday, we made a major discovery.
First of all, it's an extraordinary place where, when you arrive, you just feel like you're at home. The setting is sumptuous, the gîtes tastefully decorated. They are superbly comfortable and cosy. For those who want to relax, everything is there.
Then there's the colorful boss, Jean Louis, who immediately puts you at ease and makes you feel part of the place. His only wish is to share his passion for his Ariège region and the resources it produces. In particular, birch sap, which he manufactures on a large scale and exports as far afield as the Atlantic. Then there are the Merens horses that Christine, more discreetly, pampers. You can sense a surfeit of energy in both of them. No doubt linked to their strong personalities, but certainly the result of the brew or potion they concoct 🙂
Thank you to Vincent and Armelle for this super organization and for allowing us to discover this magical place.
We can't wait to go back.

an all-too-short weekend in a place full of charm, with a natural landscape to match.
The house reflects the good taste of the owner.
A particularly pleasant welcome by Jean Louis, who told us all about the region and all the sites to see and enjoy (including good restaurants). He even went to the trouble of telephoning to reserve tables for us.
The comfort of the bedding is particularly noteworthy (I usually only sleep 2/4 hours a night), and I slept like a log all night long. It was magical.
And the breakfasts under the plane tree on the terrace, far too copious in fact, with nothing missing, neither the homemade jams, nor the homemade honey, nor the fresh fruit. And as the icing on the cake, Christine offered us a very cool glass of birch sap, extolling all its benefits!
We needed a break from our busy work schedule, and it was a great success.
so we're left with a feeling of "too little" and a taste of "back to it"!
I can't see what could be added to make it better!

We spent an excellent WE in the Haras Picard du Sant gîte. We were made very welcome, the appliances on site are of very good quality, there really is everything you could wish for! The bedding is very comfortable, and everything is extremely clean. And what can I say about the setting, the kindness of the hosts and the extras like the pool and spa? It was perfect, and I highly recommend it!
Two magnificent, well-equipped gites, ideal for a group stay with friends or family. Tastefully decorated inside and out, functional for enjoying good weather, but also well designed for bad weather.

A very pleasant few days in the Tom room. Well-decorated, very clean place, friendly family welcome, hearty breakfast and magnificent nature nearby.
A soothing stay!
We just spent a great weekend at the Haras Picard du Sant as part of a hen party. Our group of 22 was split between the gîte "Le Chalet", the Bambou suite and the Grenier room. The place is very welcoming, at the end of the village, with a beautiful view of the Couserans mountains. The rooms are decorated in a very cosy atmosphere, with lots of charm and conviviality. The jacuzzi area and covered swimming pool (with a view of the cows!) enabled us to relax and enjoy ourselves despite the capricious weather. The kitchen in the main gîte is very well equipped, with a lovely dining area. We'd recommend this place for gatherings with family or friends.

excellent stay with friends for the transition from 2020 to 2021. The gîtes are spacious and tastefully decorated. Christine and jean louis are very pleasant and make sure you don't miss anything during your stay. They know the area very well, give very good advice on walks and activities and will share their passion for horses with you.

Thank you very much for your welcome in our beautiful Chalet Ariégeoises. We had a wonderful stay in your region, which is full of treasures.
On the house side, the swimming pool and SPA are very much appreciated, especially when returning from hikes or canoeing/kayaking trips, for example.
The beds are comfortable, the living areas large and the various terraces very pleasant...
We also appreciated the various exchanges with you, which led to invaluable advice for outings.
Thank you for the local breakfasts and the "beer" (which is in fact homemade eau de vie), which we'll be sure to enjoy on our return to the Vendée.
